Support
Here to help.
Answers to the questions people ask most, and how to reach us when they don’t cover yours.
Contact us
Email luma-support@rootlex.com. We read every message.
To help us fix a problem quickly, include your device, its iOS version, and the Luma version shown in Luma → You → About, plus what you did just before it happened. Please don’t send us photos or files that contain private information.
If you’re testing a beta, you can also send feedback from TestFlight, or take a screenshot in Luma.
What Luma can see
Why doesn’t Luma show my WhatsApp, Mail or Messages storage? iOS doesn’t let any app read another app’s storage. To bring something into Luma, share it from that app and choose Luma in the share sheet. Luma imports up to 20 items at a time.
Luma only sees some of my photos. You probably gave Luma limited Photos access. Change it in iOS Settings → Apps → Luma → Photos, by choosing Full Access or selecting more photos.
Can Luma clean a folder in Files or iCloud Drive? Yes. Use Add folder in Luma and pick it in the Files picker. Luma can only open folders you pick.
Getting something back
Photos and videos. Photos you delete with Luma go to the Photos app → Albums → Recently Deleted, where iOS keeps them for up to 30 days.
Files. Files you remove in Luma go to Luma’s Recently Deleted for 30 days. Open it from Luma → You → Recently Deleted and choose Restore. After 30 days, or if you delete them permanently, they can’t be recovered.
Is Luma free?
Yes. Luma is free, and every feature is included. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads in this version, so there is nothing to restore, cancel or refund.
If that ever changes, we’ll say so in the app and update the Terms of Use first.
Private Vault
The Vault unlocks with Face ID or the PIN you set. Its files are encrypted with a key that never leaves the device, so we can’t open the Vault or recover its files for you.
Vault files are not included in encrypted backups. Before you delete Luma or reset your device, move anything you want to keep out of the Vault.
Moving to a new device
In Luma, create an encrypted backup. It’s one .lumabackup file protected by a password you choose. AirDrop it to the new device or save it in Files, then open it with Luma and enter the password. Restoring adds files and never overwrites one you already have.
The backup holds Luma Storage and its details. Photos stay in your Photos library, and the Vault isn’t included. We can’t recover a forgotten backup password.
Privacy settings
Turn anonymous usage sharing off. Luma → You → Usage analytics. Turning it off deletes events that haven’t been sent and resets the random analytics ID.
Remove Luma from iPhone search. Luma → You → iPhone search. Turning it off removes Luma’s entries from Spotlight.
Delete your data. Deleting Luma removes Luma Storage and the Vault from the device. To ask about anything we hold, see the Privacy Policy.
